Nearly 60 percent of voters in Elko County voted against the school board’s bond proposal. The school board had proposed taking out $150 million in general obligation bonds, and obviously the public did not agree with that proposal.
Voters in opposition to the bond proposal argued that the school board needs a greater level of oversight and financial transparency.
